We keep 15-20 players. We MUST keep 3 LW, 3 C, 3 RW, 4 D, and 2 G. Then we can keep anywhere from 0-5 others at any position. I intend to keep a full 20 players.

Scoring categories are: G, A, Pts, +/-, PIM, PPG, PPA, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, FW; W, GA, GAA, Sv, Sv%, SHO.
Starting positions are: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, UTIL, UTIL, G, G

C: Bozak, Cullen, Reinprecht, Backlund, Filppula, Bailey, Steen
LW: Hartnell, Sharp ©, Ladd, Neal, Raymond, Lupul
RW: Gaborik, Hornqvist, Yip, Miettinen
D: Campbell, Kulikov, Demers, Quincey, Ericsson, Ehrhoff, Zidlicky
G: Quick, Vokoun, Gustavsson, Giguere



I've got the definite keepers in bold... that's 16 guys. So I need to pick 4 more to round it out -- 1 RW, 1 LW or C, and 2 anywhere. Trades for Sheldon Souray, Tomas Kaberle and Kevin Bieksa are still open but the Stars would have to make the deals work within their budget constraints plus re-sign them long-term.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: Forget about the Stars making any big trades heading into this season. They aren't swapping Brad Richards for Tomas Kaberle or Mike Ribeiro for Sheldon Souray. They'll have to stick with what they've got and hope their younger blueliners can improve their performances. Perhaps later in the season if the Stars are in playoff contention they might be able to pluck a rental player to bolster their blueline without having to give up much of value.
