I just started the draft for a new keeper. 10 teams, 12F, 6D, 2G. Points 1 for G and A, 0.1 Pim and shoot out goals are 1, Goalies are 2 for a win 3 for a shutout.
Starting the third round of the draft and I have Miller and Stamkos. Wondering where to focus my third pick. I am six away right now and its going to be a hard choice. The only D gone so far are Green and Doughty so I'm thinking Kieth if he's still there (unlikely) and if not Weber or Boyle? I am the only one to go with a Goalie so far. I'm tempted to get Bryzgolov or Anderson if they are around as I think they will get the most starts. Datsyuk, Toews, St. Louis, Semin, Lecavalier, Richards, Gaborik, Heatley, Marleau are all still there too. I'm thinking my order will be:
Keith
Bryzgolov
Weber
Boyle
Toews
Datsyuk
Any Suggestions?

I'm worried you might be overlooking wingers. LW and RW are the shallowest positions in fantasy hockey, if anyone's left then you might wanna grab an elite winger. Heatley looks like the best one available, is he the only big name winger left? I assume Parise is gone, right?
I love Shea Weber, but I would take Boyle ahead of him.

Nine team keeper. Keep 15 of 25

I agree, winger seems to be the most shallow positions in the draft and would look to have at least 2 elite quality goal scorers. I'd even look at a guy like Mike Cammalleri, or a James Neal a later in the draft if you feel you must have a dman. That being said, I like Weber, but I have serious questions as to the talent that will surround him. Boyle has more high end talent around him. Goalies are now slightly easier to find minus the absolute elites(you can probably get a Pekke Rinne, Jonathan Quick, or even gamble on Jonathan Bernier later in the draft). Centers tend to be the deepest position in fantasy sports, and while players like Richards and Toews are very good, you can find value there later in the draft(guys like Paul Statsny can probably be had a in rounds 5, 6, or 7). I'd go Heatley, if he goes, then St. Louis, if not Marleau, then Richards or Vinny. I'm not high on the brittle Semin or Gaborik who seem to miss a good number of games a year.
Back and better than ever. I'm back home after a long sabbatical from the greatest hockey site.
